Case high-tech remanufacturing with KMWE / Brainport industries

The high-tech industry faces challenges related to sustainability, resource scarcity, and efficient material usage. Remanufacturing—restoring used or obsolete high-tech products and parts —offers a strategic asset management solution.

A centralized remanufacturing center integrating various material flows (e.g., electronics, metals, plastics) can create value, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impact.

The main question for you as a participant during the Summer School is to think about how KMWE / Brainport industries together with her stakeholders in the high-tech industry can use some of the available maintenance innovations for an innovative business case that:

The upcoming large-scale renovation of Airport Schiphol’s C pier was the focus of the WCM Summer School 2024. Participants from asset owners and technical service providers and students, worked in teams to find the best answer to Royal Schiphol Group’s questions.

‘The level of the different solutions was quite high,’ says Christiaan Sijmons of Schiphol afterwards.

The case of the WCM Summer School this summer revolves around Schiphol Airport’s C-Pier renovation project. The issue the participants will be working on has a technical and organisational aspect, explains Ron Wever.

“The idea is to think about this together at a high tactical and strategic level during the WCM Summer School.”
